Aberdeen End of Term Updates
With the summer holidays well underway, here are a few highlights from Melville Knox-Aberdeen’s final weeks of school 2023-24 and some updates on their summer plans:
Students enjoyed a day this June at TechFest! They participated in:
- The Wonderful Rainforest presented by the Critter Keeper
- Body Vision, hosted by the Glasgow Science Center. It explored themes like healthy living and cardiovascular fitness.
- Wild about Maths
Another exciting part of this past month was our Pirates, Poetry & Pudding Fundraiser.
- The pupils presented some poetry and songs in a little sketch. Pupils went on a hunt for treasure on their ‘Jolly Knox’ pirate ship and ended up discovering that the Bible is the treasure! This fundraising brought in about £200.
Miss Nöll, our dedicated Teacher Assistant, has finished her time at Melville Knox-Aberdeen and will be much missed next school year.
During the summer holidays, our children will be participating in a sponsored Summer Reading Challenge. This will not only be a way to raise funds for new reading materials for the school, but it also allows the children the opportunity to set themselves reading goals for the holidays and hopefully have a lot of fun while exploring new books.
